Sehzade series is one of Turkish Cymbals' most adventurous offerings. Its underside is lathed and heavily hammered. The upper surface is a combination of lathed and unlathed hammered circles. The large, high-profile bell is unlathed. The darker sides of the cymbal look like leopard skin. The effect of the lathed and unlathed surface is what makes this cymbal so special. When you hit the outer lathed surface, and the cymbal produces a spicy, dark ride sound with lots of energy. When the drum stick is moved to the unlathed section, the sound dries out, giving greater stick definition. The unlathed bell is dry and clear.

The unique finish of the Rhythm and Soul (R&S) line is the result of a quick acid bath and very light lathing. This gives the cymbals a bright, but not brilliant, color and leaves behind the pits of the hammer marks for a slightly raw appearance. The entire surface of the cymbal is hammered, save the bell, which is sparsely lathed on top and totally unlathed underneath. These models sport a low-profile bell and a fairly shallow bow, which contributes to their strong stick definition and dry wash. They are in the medium-light range and have a decent amount of flex. The hi-hats have a slightly steeper bell and a more dramatic bow, which gives them a somewhat brighter character, and they’re proportionally heavier and less flexible than the rides and crashes.

Excellent for recording. Studio cymbals are very interesting visually, as well as sonically. The outer 2" circle of the top is deeply hammered, unlathed and left raw. This hammering process allows the sound to open more slowly when struck, producing a more defined note with controlled sustain. The remainder of the top surface is lathed and polished to a brilliant finish. The bell is raw with no visible hammer marks. The bottom of the Studio cymbals are lathed and brilliant throughout.

Produced with the all-around player in mind, these cymbals are casted with the same superior alloy as all other series (unlike box sets from other cymbal manufacturers who downgrade by using cheaper alloys). Moderate cymbals are hand-hammered, hand-lathed, and hand-polished to a brilliant finish. When you play on the Ride cymbal, the sound is silky-smooth, and blazes with a dark intensity.

The Classic Dark Ride built up under heavy playing, but stays under control. Its moderately heavy weight made stick response fast and bright. It also produces an enormous wash of sound when you laid the shaft of the stick along the middle. In addition, the large bell rings through clearly, allowing for piercing accents. Clear cup agression.
Classic Dark cymbals have traditional lathing and regular hammering on the top and bottom. Their sound is full-bodied, yet, reserved. The "reserved" parts refers to the dark qualities of their voices, which gives them the character of Vintage Jazz cymbals.

At the age of nine, Mehmet Tamdeger began working for Mikael Zilcan, the grandson of Kerope Zilcan. Mikael Zilcan and Kirkor Kucukyan taught Mr. Tamdeger every aspect of this ancient Turkish art, with a history that stems back to the early 17th century. After completing a very busy 60 plus years at cymbal making, Mr. Tamdeger is very proud that we are still making original, traditional Turkish cymbals for today's modern music. The Mehmet 60th Anniversary Ride has the same profile as the Mikael Z Tribute Ride, with a custom lathed top of the cymbal. This special cymbal has old-famous sound with new design.
